In ways I never could have planned, the pieces of my life came together and revealed a new calling.
Growing up in Whitestone, Queens, my parents were Italian immigrants who built their lives from scratch here. My mom was warm and nurturing, always taking care of our family and making sure a fresh meal was ready every night. My dad was a force of nature—a bull. He worked tirelessly his whole life, and even at 90, he keeps busy every single day. From them, I inherited a strong work ethic and the importance of caring for people.
As a child, the neighborhood kids and I basically lived outside, riding bikes, playing Red Light, Green Light, and just enjoying each other’s company. From those moments, I developed a deep appreciation for connection and community. I also discovered a love for design early on, constantly rearranging my room to see how a space could completely transform. That passion eventually led me to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
After school, I worked in sales, learning to truly listen and understand people—even sometimes before they could put their needs into words. I learned to read between the lines, ask the right questions, and make people feel genuinely heard.
Later, my sister and I ran a small family business together, offering healthy foods, a salad bar, coffee, muffins, and quality goods. Running that business taught me accountability in a way nothing else could. When it’s your business, your name, and your reputation on the line, there’s no passing problems to someone else. You show up, solve it, and take care of your customers because they’re counting on you.
Being a mom has been equally transformative. I learned to be present, patient, and put family first. I served as PTA co-president and on the school leadership team, and our home was always a hub for neighborhood kids after school. I loved creating a space where everyone felt welcome and comfortable. And even taking care of my elderly parents, I see the value in being there for people and supporting them through all phases of life.
Then one day, my younger son sat me down and told me to get my real estate license. He saw something in me that I hadn’t fully articulated myself: a love for homes, a love for people, and the ability to guide someone through life transitions. I was hesitant at first—out of school for a long time and unsure I could pass the exams—but his encouragement pushed me to try. In 2017, I earned my license.
From the very beginning, I loved it. Finally, all my experiences came together: my eye for design, my ability to listen and understand needs, my negotiation and coordination skills, and the work ethic of an entrepreneur. Even my appreciation for community and finding the perfect neighborhood fit into what I do. What I value most is earning my clients’ trust. I’m not just their agent. I’m their neighbor. I make sure they are taken care of and well represented.
I am grateful for the journey that brought me here. Every experience and lesson along the way has shaped me, and I carry those insights into the care and dedication I bring to my work.
Outside of work, I love being outdoors: biking, hiking, and spending time at the beach. I also really value time with friends and family. Every August, my family gathers to make homemade sauce. It’s delicious, and everyone leaves with enough to last a full year. My parents brough this tradition from Italy, and is one we’re proud to carry on. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s the value of honoring our history and cherishing life’s experiences.
My first experience buying a home felt like a blur. Nothing was really explained to me, and I was left signing paperwork without really understanding what I was agreeing to. That experience has shown me exactly what not to do. Instead, I educate my clients, ensure they know exactly what they are signing, and provide all the information to help them make the best decisions for their goals. I pride myself on offering clear communication, patience, and genuine care every step of the way. And if problems do arise, I am resourceful and quick to find solutions.
My goal is to build real relationships, not just complete transactions, which is why I stay in touch long after closing and offer resources for anything you might need from trusted vendors to advice on your next move. With additional certifications in residential, senior, and commercial real estate, I bring knowledge and professionalism to every client, ensuring you feel confident, informed, and truly supported throughout your real estate journey and beyond!
Sincerely,
Antonella Villa
